Type of a scam Tech Support
A few days later I called back and explained my issue (I believe to the same individual). They told me I had been scammed and that I needed to "verify my identity." They stated that malware had caused my number to be rerouted to scammers. First they asked me to open my bank account and I refused. Then they told me that I needed to buy iTunes gift cards in order to verify my identity to get my refund. I, of course, refused to do so...deleted the mirroring software and asked them to not contact me. They have continued to harrass me and threaten me with "defamation of character" lawsuites and with turning me into credit agencies for not paying their fee. I actually did pay the fee, but the credit card company is canceling the fee.
Upon further research, I see that there is a real company called A1Techies. This company's true web address is www.a1techies.net. The scammers used www.a1techies.com. They have mimicked their entire business and use it to scam people.
This is a short ended version of the story. Needless to say, I feel violated, stupid, and harassed by these awful people. I would hate to see it happen to anyone else.
