I thought it was such a blessing since I’ve been desperately looking for a job to provide for my family. I guess my excitement for finding something that was too good to be true kind of blinded me instead of doing proper research on the company. She then later asked to start a conversation on Google Hangouts. We ended up doing the “interview” on there and I was “hired” on the spot. The information of the job description wasn’t what I originally preferred. Red flag right there. The next day claiming to send me a check to provide me for my supplies to start my training. I was then tasked to go to the nearest retail store and purchase 3 $200 eBay gift cards that were supposedly for my new job that I was hoping to gain more possibilities. I then later realized, wow, I didn’t think this through. I started researching job scams and realized that I myself am a victim. And typing all of this out makes me feel even more embarrassed for falling for it. I just wanted to submit a claim in hopes I help others who could potentially be harmed by a similar situation.
