After applying to an ad for a "work at home" position I received an email stating that I was chosen for an interview. They requested that I upload Microsoft Teams for the interview, which I did. After being interviewed by William Snyder, answering questions he said that they would review my interview and let me know if I was a candidate. He asked for my referrals, which I provided (names, phone numbers and email addresses). I checked with my referrals and no one had received a call, which I thought was odd. But the next day they let me know that I was hired and they were sending me a contract signed by the company principal Oscar Hernandez - which they did. I signed it and returned it via Teams with a change requesting to start a week later in order to have time to get out of my volunteer responsibilities and cancel any upcoming appointments. They agreed. I never heard anything back from them. A week later I went on Teams to let them know that I was prepared to begin and what was the next step. No response. I had also purchased a new computer in order to give the company and myself the best possible working condition in the data entry position. When the start day arrived and I still had not received any response from the company I sent another message, then returned the computer at a huge cost loss. This company was going to provide me with the income I needed to remain in my home (I am retired and living on social security) but it is a huge slap in the face and severe disappointment that I could be treated as such.
