A pop up appeared during an internet search indicating Microsoft indicated a horrible virus had attacked my computer and to call to have it removed. Once I called the non native speaking caller proceeded to pressure me and tell me my Microsoft firewall had non-renewed and that my computer would crash and the virus was allowing hackers to steal my personal and banking information. The upshot was to purchase software after allowing them into the computer to show me the viruses I had. The seller told me if I didn't purchase the product at $188 for three years my screen would go black and crash. I would not be able to use it nor would it turn back on. Things were beginning to not make sense. The bank denied purchase. The seller then told me how to make the purchase go through which I refused to do. When I mentioned that he was potentially hijacking my computer and he should get off and not call me again, he finally did. I will be watching my credit card like a hawk and am having my computer cleaned.

The scammer had a message on my college age daughter's computer as she was opening the computer to study for exams saying she would be fine 3 thousand dollars and or go to jail because someone had hacked her computer and she needed their help to get rid of the malicious porn sites found on her computer. She could not exit the message and it said it was Microsoft and the US government. It also said that she would lose everything on her computer if she didn't call them. My daughter was in such a panic and paid their fee of 299.00 for their service to go in a clean her computer. They are clearly targeting impressionable people like my daughter.
