Type of a scam Employment
On 4/29 I received a response from AA Trading company for a position of procurement manager and my job duties were described as purchasing primarily electronic products, negotiating the best possible terms, and shipping them to designated addresses.
When I received the job offer the compensation package with health insurance, commissions and bonuses sounded too good to be true. So I started doing research on the internet and couldn’t find much information about the company. I found relatively new or recently modified corporate licenses but nothing else.
Being very suspicious I questioned the company rep Sandye May and she sent me some details and some links…….non of these provided any independent verification.
New York Department of State. Had the license but no further information. I called; no further information available. Company in existence since 1977 but the only change to the license since then was to add John Kim as an officer in 2019..
Checked the address 460 Park Ave, NY. No registered company by that name
Checked with the Better Business Bureau (early may before the other posts) no information.
Tried to pull a Dunn & Bradstreet, no company of that name at that address.
Called the IRS to check the EIN number – Typical IRS totally useless.
Called the FBI NY internet fraud department also totally useless.
Finally rechecked Better Business Bureau and found the write ups of May 13th and May 18th which confirmed my suspicions.
I hoped this was a legitimate company and this was a legitimate opportunity but there were too many red flags.
