Wanted to buy my used car, listed online. Sent me a fake cashier's check "issued" by OnPoint Community Credit Union for $11,995.00 more than the agreed price. Asked me to wire the difference back to him/her. Important to know that a cashier's check amount may be made available to you by your bank within 1-2 days of when you deposit it, but the transaction can take 3-4 weeks to really be finalized and could be reversed. I called OnPoint (the "issuing" bank) and they informed me they never issued that cashier's check.
