I was texted in regards to a remote job position and after answering what my desired salary was I was offered an interview over zoom. No link was given at that time. "She" proceeded to let me know that they would need to run a credit check and if they had my consent. After looking into the fair credit act I told them no I was not comfortable with that and explained why, including, the jobs that California allows to run a credit check during a job interview and that they did not meet the requirements. "She proceeded to say that they needed to verify my identity to move forward and when ask what information they needed to run it, she sent me a link to https://jobconnect.info/tt663, and states that the fee for the credit check was refundable. After 15 minutes I received a text asking if I had completed it. It was at that point that I reported the number and blocked all communications.
