I was in the middle of applying for loan consolidation options online. When I received a text message from a lender that they would be contacting me shortly. I received a call from a woman named Stephanie-receptionist going over my information and needs. She then gave me over to a man using the name Jeffrey Higgins who started to go over my needs and repeating the activity on my credit report as if he was aware of what information I had just applied for online. He then wanted to confirm my personal information to continue. He also sent his information through email to confirm his and to provide options to send screenshots of my current bills/payday loans to reach the amount required in order to get the loan. I then started to lag and ask questions about the company and why it's not the lender I see on my text. His answers were that it went out to many lenders. He then said, have a meeting now to go to and insisted on calling me back to go over it. Once getting off the phone, I searched the name and the man has been deceased for some time now. I am upset and shamed about this. Scared also that my information is out there and can be sold to whomever.
