I have a vehicle posted for sale online. Text message comes from what appears to be a local number expressing interest in the vehicle and requesting a VIN check from a specific website (AccurateVins.com). Knowing these scams are out there, I asked the potential buyer to have a phone conversation before going any further with our talks. In response to this request, I received a packaged response similar to "let me know once you've sent the VIN check, I've been looking for a Lincoln and am ready to buy ;)"

Potential buyer wouldn't acknowledge the material of my messages and was clearly only interested in getting me to order a report from AccurateVins.com
