I paid him $5,500 based on both his verbal and written contract, a signed contract that had precise conditions on exactly how he would market me and my book. There were precise terms/conditions on what he would do to bring me/my book global awareness, from branding, book sales, to a monthly revenue stream, speaking engagements, webinars, and more.
After three long and very painful months of endless and senseless mistakes, confusion, lies, lack of any and all quality, or professional work produced by Acosta or his staff, instead, only asking me to keep spending more of my money (approx another $2800), I finally filed "Breach of Contract," and filed a claim with Paypal and my credit card to get a full refund.
In addition to Robert Acosta failing on everything his contract stated he would do for me, he then lied to Paypal, claiming he designed my book covers and my blog. Both are a shameful and blatant lie, as I have a cancelled check for $750 to Billy Ciampo, the man who did, in fact, design my book cover. Acosta merely took the colors and copy from my two previous editions and dumped them on a mock up. That is not "designing." What he presented to me was useless, terrible quality, no formatting, typos everywhere, copy ran together, no design, worse yet, Acosta used fraudulent quotes from so-called doctors, on my back cover. I also have the raw cover files, Acosta does not. So how can he claim he designed my covers? He can not.
With regard to my blog, another bold face lie. I have the $500 invoice I paid for updating my blog.
Robert Acosta stole $5,500 from me. He failed to deliver one single marketing element that was stated in his Contract to secure my money. He then went on to lie to Paypal so as to keep $2000 of those funds.
This man is a scam artist, a thief, and a liar. Robert Acosta needs to be held accountable.
I am seeking a FULL REFUND ($2000) from my Paypal, as well as the remaining $3500 that Acosta charged on my credit card.
