Someone pretending to be Ed ******** a senior member of a local bicycle club to which I belong, and with whom I was expecting that I might be working in the beginning of the current year on an annual project involving the supply of financial rewards and incentives, asked me on January 15 to purchase two Apple Gift Cards in $100 denominations. The following day, he repeated the request, directing me to purchase six additional cards, again in $100 denominations each. He also asked me how I wanted to be reimbursed. I indicated my preference for Venmo, and I sent him a screen shot of my Venmo profile with my address. He took me for a total of $800.
