In trying to use a tablet I bought at Best Buy for word processing, I could not get it to work even though the app was installed at the store. I called the number for the Eastgate Store for Geek Squad and was put through to what I thought was a nationwide Geek Squad support person who stated that in order to help me, I would have to buy an American Express Gold Card for $350. I did so and got no help. Today he called me back on my cell phone which I had used to make the initial call and said that I needed to buy another $500 Gold Card because there was a problem with getting Geek Squad tech support started on the tablet (which I thought I had already done at the store). I told him that it sounded like a scam to me and hung up on him. I then called the store for GEEK squad and was put through to the nationwide Geek Squad Tech Support and this time the young man I talked to said that they would never request a Gold Card payment. This is definitely as scam, but also apparently there is no way to get valid Geek Squad support through Best Buy without going to the store just to make and appointment and then returning for the appointment and I was sold a product for a specific purpose which it apparently cannot fulfill.
