Type of a scam Identity Theft

The person on the phone said his name was John Harris. He called my elderly mother on her cell phone. He first left a message stating that he was calling about an Amazon package. My mother has no amazon accounts. Then my mother called back and spoke to John Harris who stated that someone had stolen my mothers social security number and he is investigating the case and that someone has been using her ssn so they will be providing a new number for her. They had the last 4 of her social but my mother only took down the information and did not provide anything further. He said that he is investigating the case and that someone has opened 2 credit cards in her name and abandoned a car registered to her. Also no vehicle registered to my mother.

Below is the info my mother was able to jot down on this guy. She eventually told him that she thought he was lying and hung up.
