I attempted to cancel this subscription (which I don’t believe I had ordered), which ended up with them taking control of my computer. They duplicated my credit Union screen, showing they had mistakenly transferred this $2,000 amount, rather than just offering a refund of $350. They next blocked me from managing my own computer and froze my credit Union screen, so I wouldn’t know what my balance was! They indicated I should drive to the Northfield Target, purchase a gift card in the amount of $1,650, give them the number, then they would give me access again to my computer!
I called my credit Union to discuss this scam and also learned they had transferred money from my savings account into my checking account. This is very worrisome, as I had filled out a form for the “refund” with my name, address, birthdate and email address. When I was on the phone with the credit Union, they continuously called my phone. Not sure what next I can do.
