He asked all the right interview questions, but missed some of the basics and that’s what brought up the red flag. Nothing about a background check, wanting my social security number, or anything like that to see if I was actually legal to work (which I am.) He said to contact him again the next day at the same time and he’d have feedback on the position. He texted me 15 minutes before I was informed to text him and let me know I was hired. He said the training would begin July 31st, and that I’d be getting $18 an hour for training. I had asked if it was possible to work up to 40 hours, he said no that I would choose my hours and then went on to say it was possible to work 20-40 hours weekly, another red flag. He then continued to say that I would have to PURCHASE the software used for training and doing the job. I worked remotely for a roadside assistance place for a while, and they never had me pay a dime. In fact, they had sent out all the equipment to me and even offered to send a PC if I did not have one. Thomas Behan said the software would cost $500 and that I would be reimbursed within my first weekly paycheck. I had gotten busy for a few minutes, at that point he began to spam call me! Asking if I had Zelle and saying he’d send over the vendor information. He wanted me to send the money to a random number. I did a few searches on Reddit and found it had happened to other people as well. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! They just want to take your money and leave you high and dry! In no way, shape, or form should you have to pay for software that costs $500. That’s absolutely insane. Just a heads up to any of my fellow remote searchers out there! This is what the initial email looked like. It looks very legit, because I’m sure they’re pros at what they’re doing. Just be safe my loves.
