Applied for a posting on Indeed.ca for a telehealth clinic for WellHealth network, an American based health network. Did not receive a call back however, received a potential counter offer for a different position at the clinic.The person phishing my information impersonated an actual leadership member of WellHealth as Dr. Michael Frankel. They mentioned that they will be in office soon but will urgently need me to perform some tasks for them once I accept the offer. Additionally I was to provide personal information for a background check. This did not trip any red flags for me because legitimate businesses I have worked for has had grey area practices such as this so I went with the program. However, the task assigned was to deposit a check into my personal account and then transfer the money. The deposit was through mobile check and there was no specified place to deposit said money. I got really suspicious right then and there and I did some more detailed research on the Healthnetwork and the people working there.

Researching this, mobile checks can bounce if attempted to be deposited but the funds leaving your account will be legitimate. I immediately cut connections but unfortunately compromised my SIN number and sensitive personal information.
