I answered a social media offer that asked if I was interested in a job that would earn you 400.00 - 800.00 a month. I just lost my job so I gave them my e-mail and phone number. They contacted me by text stating that they would send me a envelope with instructions. The text said.. Hello I'm contacting you as regards to the job you applied for, via, our online portal. Your first assignment has been scheduled already for this week. When you get it please proceed with you assignment as soon as possible. Next text stated when you get the envelope I will need you to confirm & let us know if you've gotten the envelope yet & also let us know how soon you'll be getting your assignment started. We will be looking forward to your soonest response. When I got the envelope it has a 2,000.00 check in it from Citibank. I was told to deposit it into my checking acct and to take a picture of the receipt and send it to their e-mail at [email protected] for verification of the deposit and then go to a Wal-Mart store and purchase 2 gift cards for 500.00 each and then go to another Wal-mart and purchase one for 500.00 and 200.00 and I could keep the 200.00 for my pay. This was to be completed with in 24 hours. Then I was to scrape the back of the cards off and take a picture of them and send it to them. To Bruce Nortman, MBA--Survey Co-Ordinator at 213-267-3696. I did not feel good about doing this and figured that they would cancel the check and I would be out all that money. I responded to the text that they had sent me and accused them of FRAUD - in so many words. They never responded. I consider myself very lucky but wanted to give you this information. Hope it helps you catch them.
