Received a pop saying I had a virus on my iPhone and gave me a number to call. The number is 844 813 1680 and it calls ACU Technosoft. They say that they're affiliated with Apple and handle the virus protection and charge 34.95 but they are in no way affiliated with Apple.

I was surfing the net on my iphone and received a message that stated a virus was detected on my phone. It asked me to call Technical Support to fix the issue. I called and spoke with a Representative who stated they were affiliated with Apple and were going to trouble shoot my issue. They stated that since my phone was out of the warranty, there would be a $29.95 fee. Thinking they were with Apple, I paid the fee and they gave me three troubleshooting steps which cleared out the website history in my phone. I then called Apple Support to verify that this company was representing them and they stated that they had never heard from them. I called Acu Tech back and asked for a manager and the person hung up on me. I called back and was transferred to a "manager" and he transferred me back to the person who took the order. I asked for a refund since they misrepresented themselves and the Representative started screaming at me but then told me they would refund the payment. I am not sure that they plan on honoring that refund, but feel that it is necessary to alert those who believe that this company is representing Apple services.
