Type of a scam Employment
Their website, adessoexecutive.com has extremely vague information, and if you scroll to the bottom, that information is incomplete. However, I applied, hoping that I would learn more about the position through the interview process.
I received an email that I could interview this morning, Thursday 11:30am with the Director, Somali Nandwani. When I researched this person's name I was directed to a fashion/graphic designers web page. I could find no link between Ms. Nandwani and Adesso Executive.
In the email, I was told that the interview would be approximately 30 minutes in length and the position, job description, and compensation would be discussed.
I arrived at the interview at 25 East Main St. in Rochester, NY at 11:20, went to Suite 301 and a white piece of paper was scotch-taped to the door saying "Marketing Office" without description of Adesso Executive in any formal way anywhere throughout the office.
Though I was told to bring my resume, I was asked to complete a paper application with the word “Adesso” handwritten at the top of the paper.
There were at least 4 other applicants in the room with people streaming in and out of the small office repeatedly.
I completed the application at 11:33am. At approximately 11:45am, a man, whose name was not given, led me into a small, windowless room and asked me a series of questions for approximately 7 minutes, and asked if I was available to start immediately. There was very little information provided about the job description, and when I asked about the customer service aspect of the job, the gentleman was vague and misleading. There was no discussion of compensation, and the woman Somali Nandwani was not present at any time during the visit in the waiting area or otherwise. I left without asking any further questions.
This is far from what I was anticipating, and I believe this is a scam.
When I got home, I found similar experiences online from others who went through the same experience on websites like glassdoor.com. One, was identical to my experience.
Though the email I received asked me to arrive tomorrow, Friday November 15, 2019 at 8am to the same office, I will not be doing so. I politely declined the invitation via email.
