Website Adirondack by owner www.adkbyowner.com is running a scam related to one of the properties up for rental on their site. The property is called Camp Little Pine under number (STR200152) and is located at 78 Lodge Way, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Request for information to rent this property was submitted via the www.adkbyowner.com website. An email was response was returned to us from email address [email protected] using the name of the owner of the property. Exchanges continued with the owner including a rental contract being shared and executed and then payment made via bank wire transfer. When it came time to leave for the rental property today 12/29/2023 we'd been in contact with the owner to get information about how to access the rental and were informed the place had been rented already and there must've been some mistake. The owner also said he'd already spoken with my wife's husband yesterday but he and I had never spoken and so there was another family that was scammed by this website and this property owner.
