This job was listed on indeed. I applied they contacted me asking if I'd like to go through a pre-employment interview to screen of I were a fit online for a remote customer service position. I agreed, the interview was short and cut straight to the point with 10 questions they scored to see if I would love to the next interview process and I scored well so the next interview they offer me a position, send over an employment agreement and benefits package. Then says they want to send me a sign on bonus and allowance for office supplies I'd need for training. Everything seemed ok the up and up they send a mobile deposit check, my bank takes it turns out it is fraud and the bank says we are out $4 grand and they tried so send another for "office equipment " I would need that would have totaled $6850 I was to send a portion of to the vendor for office supplies and a laptop. So the job was fake, all the information was fake down to their address in Boston going to a health foods store. Since it's a remote position I have no way of knowing if this company legit exists in Boston and they have had their info stolen to create this fake job in their name or if they indeed are the scammers. Anyway I have contacted the bank, closed my account, reported the fraud to law enforcement and called the number on the Log Rocket website where some dude named Chris coincidentally the same dude that did my interview says yes theyve had a few calls like me of people getting scammed and they have had their identities stolen and someone is impressinating their staff to offer job and scam folks with a bonus and start up funds for office equipment and software needed to start. It's a horrible scam. I'm embarrassed and devastated this happened.
