ADP Scam
Total money lost $191.20
Type of a scam Employment
"Hello, ADP® is currently looking for part time payroll assistance and earn $300 weekly while you work at your convenient time. If interested, please follow this link
https://shavontrumbleydtr7.wixsite.com/my-site for more information"
The link unfortunately has been either removed or taken down, but I applied because my old job has used ADP in the past to keep organized information on the employees, and I was looking for a new job anyway so I applied without hesitation which was my first big mistake.
Next, I get a text from someone named John Fuller and he proclaims he is the hiring manager for ADP and I confirm my information on the application and he proceeds to tell me what I'll be doing. The job description requires the employee to print money checks, print mailing labels, glue the labels on first priority envelopes, put the checks inside first priority envelopes and drop them off at the nearest blue mailbox at the post office. Also he sends what he needs printed to my email from his email. The name on all the emails I received was Shavon Trumbley which is the same name from the link.
In order to perform this job, this person said I was required to purchase supplies and that I would be reimbursed for them. Whenever I would purchase something, I would have to send a picture along with my receipt. I had to purchase a printer, copy paper, Versacheck paper, printer ink, glue, and later Premium High Security Versacheck paper. The first priority envelopes are free of course. The total I spent for all these materials is around $200.
Next is the pay which is the purpose of this message. The original advertisement said I would get $300 weekly. He later told me that instead of $300/weekly he said "your salary $1200 will be send to you in cash via Money Order/Paypal or bank deposit every monthly" (he has broken English). We only communicated by text, so I have PLENTY of text messages to back up everything I am saying. I started working this position on January 10, 2022. On January 28, 2022, Shavon Trumbley said I was going to be paid in the third week of February. The third week of February comes and I get no word of my pay.
So this past Wednesday, (2/16) I asked him what is the update of my pay, and these are his exact words:
"Yeah, You will be sending a check of $28,800 for the 2years salary plus $5000 for all the items you will be getting for the job through out the 2years"
"The management had a board meeting because a lot of our working ADP workers do complains about their salary up front payment and also the management, don’t want to be holding any of the workers salary"
"You will have to work till last week of July 29th 2022 before you can cash the check because that is the date written on the check and that is when you can have access to cash the check from bank"
For whatever reason, this job supposedly from ADP is refusing to pay their workers until July. My contract states that workers will be "per Month, for the services of the Employee, payable at regular payroll periods". It does not mention anything about July or the company notifying workers about changing or updating the pay schedule.
They are going against their own contract and being dishonest to their employees. I told him yesterday that I would not be doing any more services for ADP and said that I won't get paid until July 29th. This person owes me $1200 plus what I spent on buying supplies. I even managed to get in contact with support from ADP and when I asked them if they knew anything about a job position like this, they didn't know what I was talking about nor could they refer me to someone who did.
The current number that this Shavon Trumbley uses to text me on is 317-324-8356. This number can only be texted and not called. His email is [email protected]. I am also attaching the contract he sent me below. There is a typo error though. The contract says I will be paid $1000/month but we agreed on $1200.
If there is any assistance you can give on what to do it would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
