First I got a blocked call from a lady saying she was going to serve me legal documents. Not being able to say what they were for. She gave me a number to call saying the firm (adr) would be able to discuss the legal matters. I called and spoke to someone named George Maron. He then told me he was third party mediator (alternative dispute resolutions) for a bank to in which he said I owed. George Maron asked me questions to prove who I was by asking my name and asking me if he had the correct last four digits of my social. He (George Maron) said the bank wanted to take me to civil court if I did not want to pay or start payments on the debt owed. I was told by George Maron that the bank had everything they needed to win the case against me and would be sued for more than what I could settle for immediately over the phone. I was then told if I payed over the phone at that time I would be discounted 50% of what the bank wanted me to pay. George Maron also offered monthly payment plans and if I didn’t pay today I still might be able to get 40% off of what the payment was. George Maron was really pushy about me paying immediately saying things like “this is one time deal”, and “you only have this one phone call to make this payment”. He tried to assure me the authenticity of the company by giving me an address. I called back to see if they had a website. the receptionist did not know it. She put me on a brief hold and came back with clarionrecovery.com. I checked the website for contact info. It does not have an address information only a number to George Maron.
