Interested in the loan I called. They sent over a contract to sign. I filled out the information needed (including routing and account info) and sent back to them. They called me back later saying my application was denied because my credit score was too low. They offered a solution to temporarily boost my credit score in order to receive the loan. They logged into my bank information and filed claims for three payments I made, two payments I made to my apartment for rent, and one payment made towards my vehicle totaling $2454. That money was credited to my bank account. They said that they contacted my vendors and paid them, then filed claims to my bank to cancel the payments that were previously made.
They told me to send that money to them via CashApp and they would report that payment to the credit bureau and that would help secure the loan I wanted. I sent the money to them via CashApp. At this point, I had some trepidation about this transaction so I called my wife. She explain to me what I did wrong. We contacted Chase and got them to stop the claims that were filed. I then tried calling the scammers back, but there was no answer.
My wife and I went to the bank today to try and figure this out further. We ended up changing my login information on my Banking App to hopefully remove any link to the account. The scammers called me this morning questioning why I changed my bank information. I asked them for my money back. An argument ensued, and they hung up on me.
This has been a horrible ongoing experience, and this may have ruined my life.
