Advanced Identity Protector Reports & Reviews (4)

Called about virus protection on the computer. Gave access to computer for quite some time, they added an app on the computer for me to click anytime I needed to run virus protection and then asked for $219 for protection and service. Told them I was not paying for that if it was already included on my computer and hung up. Disconnected computer from internet, took to Best Buy to have cleaned by geek squad, notified my bank and filed police report.

On June 15, 2021 at approximately 4 pm, I was on my computer, checking emails. Screen filled with 3 pages of flashing warnings whils bells and alarms started. This was so loud that I went into the hall to see if it was the bulding fire alarm. There was a large phone number to hall as itr indicated that I had been hacked and that they would help me. I thought that I was connected to Microsoft and therefore it was safe! Not so much. So here are the details I was able to right down.

Contact person: James Anderson

Phone number: 1-208-274-0276

Offer

1. At no cost, they would remove all foriegn IP and malicous stuff on my computer

2. Sales Pitch - they would sell me Network Security for 1 yr for $199.00, 3 years $299.00 or 5 years $399.00

In order to recieve this, I was instructed to go to a local grocery store and buy the correct amount of 'Steam' gift cards.

I was then to call James back and give him the number from the back of the the gift card over the phone.

I told James that I would talk to a family member and call him back the next day. This is clearly a scam.

If these people ever get your email address, they'll never let you alone, so I suggest you stay as far away from them as possible.

Popped up on our computer "call this number or your computer will be locked". Long story short...company spends lots of time with customer trying to scare them. Lots of round and round information concerning network security breach, has nothing to do with your computer just your network,,,very confusing, saying your passwords and credit card numbers, banking information, etc. has been breached by certain people that are not in this country. Cleanup is free. Until you get to part where they will clean up for the low price of 4 paid tools at $40 per tool. Starts out at $249.99, ends up at $199.99. It appears that they have accessed your computer. When you refuse to pay, there are threats, etc.

3 things:

Don't call the number.

Close your browser and that will get rid of the popup.

Uninstall Advanced Identity Protector from your computer.
