Advent Health Spoof Employment and Email Phishing Scam Reports & Reviews (2)

Person texted me “Hello I believe this is [insert full government name]?” from +1 (508) 714-2415.

This is phishing related to another message I received a week ago stating “Good day, I am Jenn McPoland , a Temporary Recruiter at ROBERTSON GROUP. and i am reaching out to you in regard to your resume posted online, The position available are: Data entry , Administrative Assistant, Call center, Customer service, $40.00/Hr. We believe you meet the desired criteria, send a message as possible to schedule an interview. Thank you!” I never responded to this message. judging by the complaints against this most recent number, I assume they got my information from LinkedIn or third-party companies, selling my information when I apply for professional positions. The aforementioned number came from +1 (615) 909-3697.

I believe this all stems from LinkedIn “in Mail“ message, I replied to once a few months ago.

The grammatical errors, along with the extremely off-base compensation, for the Work offered is a huge red flag.

I know people are strapped for money, but don’t let these people get a piece of your hard earn anything
Emailed Me/Texted Me

They sent me an email selecting me for an interview. I expressed interest in their data entry clerk position and they asked me a lot of basic questions. They asked me back for "second interview" where they sent an acceptance letter and had me respond with, "okay" to the information they sent to make sure I understood the dynamics of the position, responsibilities and equipment necessary for the position. They mailed me a start up check to buy the equipment needed for the job. The list was not short and it was full of expensive equipment. I've never heard of a job that would send a start up check rather than send the necessary equipment directly. I asked for a phone call, feeling a bit wary to be assured that this wasn't a scam and the "interviewer", who was suppose to handle my training, said, "I know you are new to this process. But rest assured that you are with the right company and the right person for your fast development." I expressed an uneasiness and was told, "Am not permitted to be on a call with you, due to the fact that you are among those that are enlisted for an online interview where everything will be done remotely. But I have sent your contact to the customer Impact specialist to connect with you. Will that be okay with you?" I got a phone call within a few minutes from someone who couldn't actually answer my questions. Within a couple of minutes after getting off the phone, I was messaged again over skype. I started having alarm bells after getting the job after such a simple interview. I know I'm personable but there was no humanity in the conversation. It was very copy and pasted which was confirmed when I logged in for the 3rd day and I received the same opening message from the second day which was promptly deleted. I froze all my credit. The only info they have is my address, name and phone number. Terrifying what the wrong people can accomplish.
