I was approched by email about a job interview. Which then turned quickly into a "Chat Interview" on an Instant Messaging app calling "ringcentral" to which then I proceeded with the email contact, as well as the instant messaging on the ring central application as provided by the "[email protected] email address with a potential job offer the next day on 03/10/23. Afterwards - there was a gap of the weekend and I was asked to send all of my personal information, such as my home address, phone number and personal identifying information. Later today- i was sent an email, after following up with "Kristin" the supposed hiring manager, that did my interview, stated that she would be emailing me a check to deposit and use for the "start up check for a home office: for a Data Entry Clerk position at Aeglea BioTheraputics. She sent the email with the check with my name and address on it. - I however was skeptical and did research to find out if the check was legit, and come to find out the CHECK- has a different company name on it called Big Green Cleaning company - based out of California. Which I then found out that the Big Green Cleaning company in California does not have any Affiliation with Aeglea BioTheraputics at all. This is where I called out the person I have been in contact with now for about 4-5 days to maybe a week now- since the interview process, then the on boarding and offer letter signed, to then following up with finding out the check does not have the actual company name they are posing as. I asked on a number of occasions if someone could call me from the company to verify and validate the offer, and position. I never heard back from this company or anyone that works there. Then - I called Big Green Cleaning in California just to ask about the Check that says their company name on it. This is when I finally realized that this whole time it has been a scam. The people at Big Green Cleaning in California stated they were sorry and it is a scam. They checked the banking information which it is theirs. I did not do anything with the check strictly because I had a feeling this whole thing was fraudulent. i have documents but they would not upload to the example.
