Scammer's website AEX.Mexc.Dev CountryUnited States Victim LocationWA 98391, USA Total money lost$4,000 Type of a scamInvestment
I was contacted on Telegram via an Invitation to a Bitcoin Wealth Building group invite. There were about 400 people invited and we were introduced to a site called AEX.MEXC.DEV. The AEX platform was presented as a bitcoin investment platform and the contacts supposedly had Analysts who would guide investors through making money.
Essentially, the entire platform is a scam. It's not investing in anything, it's a gambling platform. You place bets on if the price will go up or down over the next 3 minutes. The analysts guess and then, if they are wrong, ask you to increase your bet on the next one by double or triple. If you lose 200, bet 600. If you lose again, bet 2000, then 6000, etc. If you eventually win, they hold your money until you pay them a 15% fee but when I tried to withdraw money, they accused me of "money laundering behavior" and froze my account.
The other members of the group are either plants or bots designed to repeatedly say how great this opportunity is over and over and rave about how much money they are making.
In the event that you lose money, they tell you it's because you didn't have a large enough portfolio to mitigate risks and you need to invest more.
I can't prove it beyond a doubt but I believe they also manipulate the price feed to suit their needs as you can purchase 1:1 guidance from their expert who "is 100% accurate".
Just don't accept the invite or even entertain AEX in any way.
