We contacted AG Spas to repair our hot tub as there was a heating problem. On Aug. 1, they sent Chris, who looked at the tub and said it needed a new heating mechanism, for which he charged $500, along with a $169 service fee. The following week, he returned to the house, allegedly to install the part, and only added more water to the tub. We checked the tub later and found it still wasn't heating. We contacted Chris and asked for an invoice for the part he was supposed to install and he became evasive. He claimed the problem with the tub was that it had too little water (it had the usual amount) and this was the cause of our issue. I pressed him on the $500 part, and he said it wasn't needed but would not commit to refunding the money. After it was clear a refund wasn't coming, we contacted the business owner, Anthony Garner. He said he didn't have the money to give us a timely refund, so we arranged with him to use the disputed amount as a fund to pay for future service, including the heating issue. After making this arrangement, we were no longer able to reach him by phone or text (calls went to voicemail and texts went unanswered).
