- Baton Rouge, LA, USA

After several members of my church contacted me via Facebook advising me of the available money, the fake agent started emailing me. I was suspect, so I called to find out if there truly was a grant for the elderly and disabled. Finally someone with the State said they had heard of a grant but didn't know much about it. Agent Janet started emailing me, and then said she needed a lot of information. ( I was interested primarily for my son who is a quadriplegic.) I stupidly sent her way too much information on us both. She then sent an email to me telling me that I needed to select the amount of money I wanted (it started at $700 if I wanted $80,000.00,and it went up from there to much larger sums). It was at that point I realized I had been scammed. I immediately stopped emailing her after she explained that Fed X would deliver the money within 7 hours. She has continued to email me asking if I have received the money. I attempted to turn my computer off but evidently Microsoft has made it almost impossible to turn my computer off. I routinely turn it off over night but have been unable to for at least a week.
