DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I booked a hotel reservation through Agoda and received a booking confirmation. 3 days later I received an email saying that my credit card did not process and they needed me to resubmit my credit card information within 6 hours or my booking will be cancelled. I called Agoda and spoke with three different customer service representatives, all of which said they could not process my payment and asked me to resubmit my payment which I was unwilling to do. I checked my credit card statement and my charge did indeed go through, and I also confirmed this with my credit card company. When I attempted to call back and ask for a refund, they would not provide me one since they said the hotel is the one that charged me. The hotel confirmed that is not the case and Agoda is the one who charged me. I immediately contacted my credit card company to file fraud since I felt like I was being scammed. I wish I had done my research prior to booking - lesson learned.

Beware of this company. It's been well over a month and they not only lied about refunding my card, but illegally held on to my old credit card's information and sent a copy of a fake chargeback with the old card's information on it. I have the emails where they stupidly tell on themselves. Paypal sent them a dispute weeks ago and has replied stating that Agoda refuses to make contact. I sent them several forms of proof of the transaction and after I threatened to expose them, they responded with "this will be our last reply to your question..." The real question is, how many customers have they ripped off?

I booked a reservation to stay at Grand Kissimmee Hotel in Kissimmee, FL in June 2022. I was visiting for a funeral and my family offered to have me stay with them instead so I attempted to cancel my reservation. I emailed Agoda requesting a refund and told them my reason, Agoda in turn asked for a death certificate to prove why I was cancelling. I refused to do so.

Next they asked me to call the hotel to get a cancelation and fee waived from the hotel directly and then provide them with a name and position of whom i spoke with, I complied.

However, that wasnt enough. Agoda then requested a written confirmation of the conversation I had regarding the cancelation to go forward with the refund. I reached out to the hotel and they mentioned having many travelers complaining of Agoda's service and their scam routine. Grand Hotel Kissimmee Celebration told me they would be glad to offer a documentation as long as Agoda called them directly.

In. Onclusion, contact with Agoda stopped immediately. They did not return my emails, they did not call the hotel nor have they sent me a followup to my inquiry. I have yet to receive my refund of $175.00. Yes, that was my charge and Agoda is not willing to release it back to me. There is no telephone number provide for their company so no one to talk to at all.

Please be careful when booking a d always use a cc so you can file disputes and be protected. I hope the ScamPulse.com looks further into this matter and I encourage anyone who has had this experience with Agoda to report it!

Thank you,

I googled luxury hotels in the Miami area and came across an option for $350 a night stay at the Hotel AKA Brickell. I chose the Agoda website as third party booking site for the Hotel AKA Brikell. However, when I got to the hotel, I could not check-in at the hotel's front desk because I was apparently renting some Air BnB room in the hotel that was not "technically" part of the hotel but used the hotel's name. The room was such poor quality that the "wood" flooring was lifting and removable, the carpet was torn in places, the sofa bed sank in the middle and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Needless to say, Hotel AKA Brickell did a bait and switch by having me think that I would be staying in one of their rooms while I was really staying at some weird third party hostel. The Hotel AKA Brickell and Agoda (third party booking agency) are in the scam together, steering customers away from the actual hotel rooms to hostel type rooms for the same rates but inferior quality rooms.

I booked a hotel room over a weekend and initially it said it was booked. A few hours later it said booking was cancelled with a different booking number. I logged into their website to check again if indeed it was cancelled and it was. I did not rebook and did not go on my trip. The weekend passes and then all of a sudden I’m charged full price even though the cancellation email stated I will not be charged at all. There is no easy way to contact them. I had to go out of my way and find contact infos on google from other websites. When I I contacted them they said I booked twice which I never did. They said a refund is not possible and apparently they negotiated with the hotel but said the hotel won’t give any refund back even though it clearly stated that even if I don’t show up to the hotel, the hotel will only charge 58%. Clearly that didn’t happen. I’ve been scammed nearly $500.

Reserved a room through this company and after entering my CC info I was immediately sent a cancellation email stating "we are so sorry for this highly unusual error, please contact the property directly with questions" which made no sense, so I called the hotel and they indicated that room was not even one of theirs and that the hotel had been booked for at least a month. But of course they took the payment and are now trying to say it can take up to 30 days for a refund, tried to call their customer service phone number and was hung up on by someone in another county who doesn't speak English. This place is 100% a scam DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

We had a Hurricaine Sally entering the gulf coast region September 14th 2020, within 50 miles of our residence. Because of the hectic situation, my fiance was in charge of booking a hotel while I was driving. She contacted the Agoda agency and spoke to an agent named Alicia who told us that there were no more rooms available just about everywhere we were looking. She told us there was availability at the Hyatt located in Baton Rouge off Blue Bonnet rd. The only Hyatt in Baton Rouge, Louisianna. We checked it out. It was $128 before taxes. Alicia told us that the Hyatt only had one room available for $145 which was odd, but we had nowhere to go. She then bumped the total to 204 dollars and said it was hotel taxes. We went inside the hotel after we figured, hey that's a ton of taxes and asked the lady at the counter of the Hyatt where 80 dollars worth of taxes come from and she had no idea what we were talking about. Alicia had booked our room and not given the correct credit card information, even though the room was in our name. We were told by the Hyatt employee that the room Was indeed 128

dollars and that taxes should have been around 15 dollars which seemed correct. Needless to say I asked the Hyatt agent how many rooms they had available and she told me they had PLENTY. We were pressured and lied to by Alicia the agent for Agoda or Aboda, whichever they are and we seek compensation for not only the lies and pressure sales on my fiance and I, but also the lack of professionalism upheld by the staff of this agency. You can't lie to Americans, take an Americans money, not pay an Americans room and end up getting an Amercan double charged for a room and put us Americans through this stress without expecting some form of consequence. We were charged twice for our room, once for the correct amount of 148 dollars and once from the pressured scammer for a total of $186 plus 14.99 for a booking fee. Look, we're only talking about $38 here, but we feel that she owes us the $38 !and the surcharge for booking for ******** us over and making our already hectic time a complete disaster. We took a look online and this company is ******** everyone over. People are looking for deals online, not price gouging. We seek the complete $52.99 due to her lack of professionalism, her swindling lies, and her lack of consideration for people in a state of duress. The reviews are despicable and the fake 5 star reviews are by people who cannot even make legible comments. Please shut them down. They are scamming Americans out of our hard earned money. My name is *** ******* the phone number to the Hyatt were my information was booked on the night of Sept. 14 was ************.

Just really want to find out if this is legit? No money has been sent, they have not asked for anything "up front". Sent me a proposal for my timeshare for $29,500.00 US dollars. They say no money is asked of me for the "commission only" until I have received full payment from the sale.

Agoda is a booking site they do not issue refunds to customers even when there is a reasonable reason for a refund they just take your money

I have never heard of this company until a charge came through my checking account. I have not tried to book any travel, hotel, etc and yet somehow they got my credit card number and fraudulently charged my account. Thank goodness my bank caught it and reversed the charge but now I will have to pay for another debit card so they can't charge me again.

This was my first time using this third party booking agency. I booked a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos. I called the lodge to confirm my reservation and they did not have anything for me even though my credit card had already been charged by the third party agency. When I called Agoda they told me that they would contact the lodge. After being on hold for quiet some time they said they were not able to get a hold of anyone at the lodge. The agency provided me with a reference number I could give to the lodge. When I provided this number to the lodge, it didn’t actually work and they were not able to locate my reservation.

I booked a hotel through this website and, when i went to check in to the hotel the front desk help told me they don’t except agoda reservation. I try to contact this company but the website was bogus.

I had to book a hotel in an emergency, I found a hotel with the money I could afford I booked it through Agoda they immediately charged my debit card and said it would be confirmed within minutes. After an hour I had to call and nothing was confirmed and Agoda said they had to call the hotel and after being on hold for over an hour said that the "hotel" did not have any rooms left for the price that Agoda advertised for so either they could give me my money back which would take days as it was a Saturday and I had no where to sleep or pay them another another $125.00. I had no choice I did pay the ransom as I feel it was and not feeling comfortable I called to verify again with Agoda and the hotel and they said the hotel never heard anything from them at all neither the hotels main reservation line or the property itself. So after another almost 2 hours on hold they say its taken care of and the room is confirmed.

When I get to the hotel I talk to the manger about the situation and she says that she had the room for the initial price and has had issues with them and other customers before using Agoda and they are fraudulent.

booked a hotel through web site and price quoted was $149/ night booked 2 rooms and after entering credit card # total was $430 . Tried to contact company and able to get through . Called hotel and room directly through hotel significantly cheaper . Called customer service # for Agoda and spoke to person who spoke broken English and reported that she was in Dallas . She cancelled my reservation but couldn't guarantee that I may be responsible for full amount if hotel didn't agree to refund my money . Told her not to cancel but said she already had. Time will tell but hopefully won't be paying double the amount of room. The reported difference in the quoted price and final price was taxes and fees. This should have been revealed before the reservation was finalized. Once completed no recourse.
