Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was looking to buy a Montane Deep Heat Down Jacket in XL color Shadow. After scouring the reviews and websites, everyone was out of this item except for www.aguadapalavra.com and they were selling the product for $251.90 which is an in line price for what other places have for size M. The site is listed as a Montane Outlet store.
The first clue was that there are several grammatical errors and there is no business location or address to follow up. Second, when I look at the item and add to cart, there are a bunch of different payment options, Visa, Discover, MasterCard, etc... but when I go to check out, my only option is MasterCard. As I was concerned about the security of my information, I emailed the customer service and requested if there were other payment options, or if I could pay with PayPal knowing how secure PayPal is and I trust their services. The response I got back via email (which went to my Spam folder) was that they only had MasterCard and it was recommended to pay via bank transfer which they would offer me a 10% discount for bank transfer. As I've only ever heard of bank transfers being used in scams, I am reporting this website.
I contacted Montane as well and they recommended I do not order from that website since they cannot get in touch with anyone to verify that they are a licensed Outlet store.
