Greetings Wisconsin BBB,

So I’ve been concerned about a newer scam that has shown up in my life - it’s been like a mosquito that you think is dead but keeps coming back to life.

I received 3-4 emails the past 2-3 months from a scammer claiming that I had booked an air bnb in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. And it was an email that looked like an invoice and a receipt.

I did a search about the home I was supposedly renting in Oklahoma City and apparently it’s a real home.

I Did not contact the owners but research shows they live in Costa Rica? Weird.

I also got phone calls from the fake number they used which was also listed in the emails they sent.

I have screen shot the info/research I did but I did permanently delete the emails because it scared me to keep them inbox due to potential hacker links and down loads. Next email I get I’ll screen shot it before I delete it.

I want people to know about this - these scams continue to get more elaborate. Nobody has time for this - haha.

I RENTED A HOUSE FOR THE WEEKEND 9/15/17- 9/17/17 FOR A BACHELORETTE PARTY FOR MY FRIENDS AND I. I RENTED THROUGH AIR BNB AND THE HOSTESS WAS A GIRL NAMED JESSICA LEE. THE ADDRESS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 6325 WEST END BOULEVARD NEW ORLEANS, LA 70124. MY FRIENDS AND I SHOW UP TO AN EMPTY HOUSE WITH NO KEY (WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN A LOCK BOX ON THE FRONT PORCH). THE HOUSE HAD A FOR RENT SIGN UP. THE NEIGHBORS SAW US LOOKING AROUND AND TOLD US JESSICA HAD BEEN KICKED OUT MONTHS AGO FOR RENTING THE HOUSE OUT EVEN THOUGH SHE DIDNT OWN IT. WE WERE CHARGES $604.00 BACK IN JUNE 2017. AIRBNB DID REFUND US THE MONEY ALTHOUGH IT WILL TAKE WEEKS TO GET BACK. WE ARE STILL OUT OF $500.00 BECAUSE WE HAD TO END UP RENTING HOTELS FOR ALL OF US. THIS WOMAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HER ACTIONS.
