From a Wenatchee WA Craigslist posting, the owner referred me to an online consignment company called Air Pure Auto to facilitate a safe, convenient transfer of ownership in a 58 Corvette for $33,000.00. The airpureauto.com website appeared to be legitimate and I found no negative posts on them. I entered into an agreement to purchase the car with a 7 day money back guarantee of satisfaction and wired the funds to their escrow account at Chase Bank. I received an email saying the funds had been received and the car was loaded on a truck to go out for delivery. All correspondence stopped at this point, emails came back undeliverable and phone calls went directly to a busy tone. The company was presented as Air Pure Auto, www.airpureauto.com, 6701 Center Dr W, Los Angeles, CA 9045. Phone 888-804-4659.

From an initial Classic Car (Corvette '66 Nassau blue - $31,990) for sale Craigslist posting, the seller **** ******* ******* * emailed me pointing me to an online "consignment" organization airpureauto.com where the vehicle was located and where they would facilitate the safe transaction. The web site seemed very legitimate. I researched other buyers and sellers and found many positive reviews and ScamPulse.com review (all of those web pages were later found as fake - beware!). Following the process they sent me many professional looking emails and assigned a real person contact (Jason Peterson ***** ********) whom I spoke and text with several times.
