I've previously verified my identification using my US Passport and provided an additional photograph as verification. They have all of the information requested and still refuse to confirm my booking without me resubmitting over and over. It seems like an attempt to misuse your identifying details especially when they claim their hosts will not see it. Their customer service people refuse to override any errors and keep sending redundant and spam-like messages to you in order to get you to acquiesce. It is alarming.
