In June 2023 AJ Asphalt targeted a 76 year old man with a developmental disability. They came to his home uninvited and paved his driveway without his permission. They then gave him the invoice for $3,600 dollars. On the invoice it lists that the person is handicapped and to take him to the bank. They transported this man to the bank where they prompted him to withdraw money from his account. He did not have enough money to cover the payment and they took what they could get from him. They did a poor job with the paving and it will cause damage to his home. The police were contacted due to financial exploitation. Nothing could be done as it was technically not a crime. A year later this company approached this man again and showed up at his home. They then asked for more money which this man was not able to provide. They took advantage of this older adult with a disability to scam him out of money.
