Once we had an agreement on the puppy, he told me in an email that I needed to send the $680 to Lydia *** on the Zelle app. I did so, and they asked if I wanted the puppy's name changed. I told them to name her Holly. At this point we are now texting. They told me they were going to contact the shipper and have them get back to me.
When I was talking to the shipper (Mulikat * *** [email protected]), they told me that the puppy went from Minnesota to Fargo, North Dakota, but that it would need a special regulated crate to come to St. Louis. They said it would be around $2000 to buy one, but since it was only for single use and I wasn't a breeder, I could just rent one for $950. I sent them the money, and they offered to have Holly sent that day, but the payment hadn't gone through. At this point, I was very worried I wouldn't get my puppy and my husband thought this was a scam. They told me to cancel the payment to ***, and instead send it to a different shipper called "David ***". Then they told me to cancel the *** one because there were complications. I got the David *** money back, but *** ended up getting the money anyway even though the transaction had been cancelled.
When I had my daughter look up their website and do some research on them, she found out that they were a scam website. I had her look up the puppy, which was from instagram, and she looked through my emails and texts, and noticed that they had referenced a different website of theirs in the original email they sent me: oasiscavaliers.com/available-puppies). At this time I also realized it was a scam, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I talked to them a little more and asked where my puppy was. They said they never received the money, but they were worried about the puppy being in transit this long, and they would pay half and only have me pay $400 to get the puppy to St. Louis tonight. (9th of December).
At this point my daughter took the phone and told them that she knew they were a scam and that they got their pictures from instagram. She also let them know that we had two reports out on them already.
