Got a voicemail claiming to be a debt collector, identifying my address and my grandmother's name (I am her legal conservator), so it seemed legitimate given those initial pieces of information. I called and got a call center, though I thought it was odd I heard a bit of music in the background. They explained there was a debt for a small personal loan that went to collections, which was opened in 2018. My grandmother has alzheimers, so I figured this was plausible, and just missed when I started the conservatorship. They also presented me (without asking for it) her last 4 of her social, my address, and birthday, I think to build credibility in hindsight. I gave them the bank account routing number and account number, and the name on the account to do an ACH debit of the $634.81 amount. They then sent me a docusign to complete and initial authorizing the transaction. This was from:

Signed Approvals ([email protected]) has requested a signature

And they claimed to be: "Akermon Rossenfeld" which when googled shows a ton of simple and no detail websites, which is clear it's not a real company. I signed the document, and they called me back later to confirm the name on the account.
