I was on the internet looking for free games. I might have started to download when the screen turned black, a constant loud beeping began and the message in white told me that if I shut down my computer, I would loose all my data and programs. It said I should call 844-780-0257 to get information of what to do. A woman said that the choices to fix this were either to take to a Microsoft store or she could send the data to Microsoft for a technician to fix it. If she sent it to Microsoft online the charges would be $199.99. It would take 60- 90 minutes to restore. She showed me a list of my programs and if any of them were functioning. All were not functioning. If I took it to a repair place it would take 4-5 days and cost $199.00 to 299.99 to repair. I let her connect me on line to what I thought was a Microsoft technician. Of course, I had to pay first so I gave my credit card information.My Visa account wouldn't take the charges and another charge in GA at a gas station for $199.99 so I didn't lose money.
