Type of a scam Other
He sent an email that looked legit from CASHNET USA an online loan site that stated he was Jack Hernandez a loan officer. He said I was approved for a loan in the email. But in the conversation he said my account was in the negative and it needed to be positive to get the loan. He would help by sending the money to get it positive and deduct it from the loan being sent. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't have fallen for it but I had recently lost a love one and found myself in an emotional and desperate situation. Anyway, he sent too much and it needed to be sent back etc, I knew he was shady after the money was transferred but I
felt trapped because I didn't have the money to send back that he used to made my account positive. I still believed I was going to get a legit loan. At the end, I knew he had scammed me but I didn't realize the money put in my account was fake. He had my username and password and when it was over I found out he was making checks off my account. He ended up with 6 target gift cards, 2 for 400 and 4 for 500. I ended up with a closed account and owing the bank 4000. Some of the online loan sites do ask for that information to make sure you have an account and you are receiving money from an employer. My bank said I owe the money because I gave him my information and he deposited checks from it. It's sad and unbelievable that people can be so heartless. It's also unbelievable that I got myself in this situation.
