[email protected] Reports & Reviews (1)

- Rochester, NY, USA

I applied to a role via LinkedIn from this company which was an easy apply application. A few weeks later, I received an email from the owner Albert Lambert stating, "Thank you for applying to the remote Marketing Specialist position at SCADA Integrators and Services LLC via LinkedIn. We're very excited to move you forward to the final evaluation process. Please email me a copy of your updated cover letter and salary requirements for final review." . Since this is a normal occurrence in job correspondence, I didn't initially question the authenticity of the message and sent over my personal professional history. Two days later, I received a follow up email that said " We reviewed your application for the Marketing Specialist position but the position has been filled by another qualified candidate. However, the position will be open for an additional candidate by the 2nd week of June as we are expanding and looking to employ 2 Marketing Specialists. In the meantime, I have an open Executive Virtual Assistant position that you can attain now, and transition to the Marketing Specialist position by 2nd week of June as you are our other preferred candidate.

EXECUTIVE VIRTUAL ASSISTANT (EVA) JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an entrepreneur, I often have a tight schedule and I'm constantly out of town on business trips — as a matter of fact, I'm embarking on a business trip to Ontario, Canada on Sunday and I will be returning home on April 29th. I need an efficient EVA that can handle some of my activities in my absence, and relieve my workload.

If you accept the EVA position, you will start working next week. You will be provided with all necessary equipment for the position. This is a completely remote and flexible part-time job, you can be in any location doing all the tasks. Additionally, it won't affect you working in another job as you will choose your own hours. This opportunity is perfect for someone who is honest and can offer services such as reading and replying emails, typing letters, memos and reports, booking flights and hotel reservations, paying bills, printing invitations for exhibitions, and other similar clerical tasks.

The EVA position is 20hrs/week, and you'll be paid $700/week, which will later increase to $850 depending on how effective you are. In addition, you can earn a sign-on bonus of $850 for the EVA position. To qualify for the sign-on bonus you must complete 50 hours of work, and have satisfactory performance. All expenses and taxes will be paid by me. After my trip, we can talk about the possibility of us working together longer, provided this job is done efficiently.

The EVA position is a temporary position that could possibly become a permanent one for you based on your performance. You will have the option to transition to the Marketing Specialist position when it becomes open in June, or you can retain the EVA position for the long-term. The choice is yours to make when the time comes but for now, this EVA position is a great opportunity for you to get yourself acquainted with the company and your colleagues.

If interested, reply with your willingness to accept the EVA position, and confirm your readiness to start next week so I can set up a quick interview with you." - I was emotionally drained from applying to jobs and it going no where so I waited a few days to accept the offer. I still saw nothing abnormal about the correspondence. I became skeptical after a completely different role I applied to through LinkedIn also reached out to me via email with more sketchier avenue of conducting an interview and I later discovered through further investigation that it was a fraud. A few days later, I received an email stating, " Thank you for your interest in the EVA position. Your employment agreement is currently being drafted and will be forwarded to you to sign once it is available to me.

I planned to set up a virtual interview with you for Monday afternoon but my schedule is pretty much packed up this period. I'll see if my schedule opens up next week so we can have a chat. However, I've prepared a few interview questions for you to answer via email for my records. Below are the 5 interview questions:

1. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

2. How quickly do you respond during working hours?

3. What would you do if you had a deadline and your PC suddenly crashed?

4. How do you handle a situation when you may not know how to complete a task?

5. What do you do when a client has trouble articulating their needs?

Please return your answers as soon as possible, and we'll take it from there."

After this is decided to look up the job and company on LinkedIn again and both were nowhere to be found and I looked up the email address and saw that someone had already put In a report to the ScamPulse.com in reference to this email.

(BBB Added) Address given on LinkedIn: 2321 Energy Drive Suite 300, Louisville, OH 44614.
