I asked her what the complaint was about. She couldn't tell me, as that information was in the sealed envelop on her desk and that she couldn't open it.
I gave her permission to open the envelop and she said she couldn't.
I asked her how she got my phone number - she said it was part of the complaint.
I asked her who the company was that was associated with the 888 number she gave me - she said she couldn't say, as ALC works with a lot of companies across the US.
When I told her she had to see how this sounded fishy, and that there's been a lot of stories in the news lately about scams that start with phone calls like this, she hung up on me.
