Applied to an Executive Assistant position, they emailed me back and had me do a questionnaire and then immediately offered to hire me. I was skeptical, but the guy called me on the phone to reassure me it was legit. I was like, okay. But then they told me they'd be sending a check to buy office supplies from a specific supplier -- classic scam tbh -- and when I got the check, it was written out by a different company. I called them, they told me it was a fake. I also saw that the real David Lee (I assume) has added that Align IS NOT hiring to his LinkedIn profile.

I applied to this position through Glassdoor and was hired. It was advertised as a remote executive assistant position and the interview process seemed to be way too easy. It consisted of about 10 questions sent over email and was said to be part of the screening process. The following day I was emailed by David Lee congratulating me to have made it that far into the interview process. I was then instructed on the following steps and then sent an employee onboarding contract with details that seemed legit. I went through the process they instructed me through everything and I was then told I would be starting the following week and that I would be given details to purchase the equipment required for my home office.

While this was an ongoing process for about two weeks David was in constant communication with me through text as well confirming and reassuring me of the process and status of things. I was informed that a check would be mailed to me for deposit. After it arrived I had already done some research and found this one article about people and their experiences with this company and the fraudulent activities. I took the check to my bank to check the validity but it was made out of a bank in California and they reassured me that they would be unable to check that only the bank that the check was made out from could confirm if the check was valid so after that I left the whole thing alone because I didn't want to go any further and haven't done anything with the checks or confirmed anything with David as he has been checking up on me and asked if I've deposited the check or not.

This happened to me. He texted me, email me, I even talked to him on the phone. I just got the check and reached out to the company it was written from, because it was not Align, and was told they had received info from another person about the same thing. It's 100% fake.

Also, I just saw that David Lee on LinkedIn (the actual CEO, I assume) added to his bio that they are NOT looking hiring right now.

I applied to the position on Indeed. Then a multiple week process per a usual job interview/vetting process occurred. It became suspicious when they provided an offer letter despite having only a text interview exchanged via email. My suspicions were confirmed when they established that they will be a sending check for me to deposit and use to buy work equipment.
