(He emailed in mid-December the person with whom we had booked to enquire about the availability of a cot for his baby and was informed that a cot was available).
He was informed by FlipKey by email on December 28th that the email of the manager of the house he had booked had been hacked and FlipKey advised us to contact the manager to see if he knew about our booking. Our son-in-law telephoned and emailed immediately but was unable to make contact until the next day when he talked to him by phone and the manager knew nothing about our booking.
We would like others to be warned about this scam and to be informed about the high frequency with which the FlipKey site has been hacked, as we have learned in hindsight by browsing the Internet. Unfortunately, we have only learned about the high risk associated with Flipkey and some other vacation rental sites following our own costly experience.
Please advise us also if there is anything you in BBB would suggest that we might do to try to recover our money
