I would like everyone on here to know that I'm Alina Luis. When I was 18 years old I was scammed into renting a studio apartment on RoomFinder. I was desperate to find a home and sent my photo ID to the scammer. I have tried to file a police report but there was not enough information to track down the scammer. Now years later I receive dozens and dozens of threats from people on my media platforms accusing me of scamming them. I have never scammed anyone in my entire life. I'm a victim of identity theft.

My daughter had this exact thing. She ended up sending $1500. If anyone has any idea how to go about fully reporting this it would be appreciated. She is 18 years old. This stuff makes me sick. What kind of people do this to other people?! I will have her upload the photos as soon as she is able to.

I had the same experience.. Whats sad is she's still doing it. And she almost got us good, knowing we really need this $500, even told her were currently staying in my boyfriend's car in the florida heat and she still does this. Even made us sign a lease agreement with her "lawyer" which was a california number, asked to call her multiple times each time a sad sob story on why she cant. Asked for a pic of the keys and an id she presents me with a CA id.. Looks nothing like her. I believe we saw through the red flags because we were desperate but after using cashapp and sending it to $Moneman13 i received a scam notice. Really glad i did cuz we looked her up and boom this was the first thing to appear. Really just sick.

They were offering a room in San Jose, California for a very cheap price.

The first email said:

"i am Alina Luis , a one bedroom is available in my two bedroom Apartment,and it is fully furnished...utilities are include in rent and it is 500 monthly and 500 security deposit,Lease Agreement is flexible and it is month to month..you be having your personal bathroom and toilet with private bedroom..please be specific on the area you looking for so i could know if it is closer to mine."

We texted in between this time. The number they texted me from is (530) 918-8453. They were pushy throughout.

Then, the next email stated:

"I really appreciate your text concerning my property for rent 48 S 17th St San Jose, CA 95112 my name is Alina Luis Am a God fearing person and my dad was a pastor till i lost him last 2 years ago in a car wreck and i inherited this house after i lost him... I have been staying here in Arizona with my mom for more than 5 years and working part-time, that's why i want to rent a room out of my 2 bedroom house i inherited cause i wont be able to move there till i finish my study over here, where you will have your own personnel toilet and closet so you dont need for a week trial, you will have all the house to yourself. My initial plan was to sell the house but I find it difficult to let go this adorable home and my mom wont allow me to sell it also, I have decided to rent out to a responsible tenant who is willing to take very good care of it in my absence.I have plan to rent it through Real estate before, but they are not serious simply because they have a lot of house to lease out and they added some money to the rent while there commission is not fair. Pets are allowed as long as they are not destructive. The rent is $500 and security deposit is $500 and total move-in cost is $1000 and all the utilities are included in the monthly rent,as my dad his on a governmental programme that sponsors his utilities on monthly basis and pets are also allowed.I plan to send the keys out through USPS to the tenant. Attached to this email are some pictures."

Once I said I was willing to proceed, they emailed this:

"Below are some questions I need you to answer so we can discuss further. It is available

for a long lease. Get back to me for further discussion on how to get the keys and

tenancy agreement document to you if I find you suitable and decide to rent the property

to you..

I ended my conversation with them.

I had the exact same experience with her sending the same emails to me except the property was 2619 mayer st Orlando FL. The cashapp she uses is "$moneman13" and the zelle email is "[email protected]" do not send money to either of these accounts
