Approached on LinkedIn. Switched conversation to WhatsApp. Exchanged photos. Romantic/sexual messages exchanged. Offered a business opportunity with short-term crypto options trading. Was given $1,000 to "try it out" and was told to keep the profits after sending back the original $1,000. Sent more money of my own, to "my" account. Trading was successful. Sent more money. Was given a "loan" of $50,000 to be paid back in 30 days. When I went to pay back the loan I was told that my crypto account was frozen and I had to pay the money from outside the platform itself. Borrowed money from family, friends, and the original grifter to repay the loan. I was told the money that she sent had been rejected under suspicion of money laundering, and I had to send $30,000 more. Unable to raise that much money, I finally realized it was a scam and discontinued contact with the original grifter.
