We just moved in from out of state and needed a plumber. We didn't know of one, so we found one online that seemed legit and called him. He was starting up a business after taking a break. Said he learned to do everything on his own, and yes, he did fix the plugged drain. Said he charges $125 an hour, and his first day with a bill reflected that. He didn't fix the problem the first day, so came back the second day. Worked two hours and charged $899 for them. He bought some pipes for us for less than $100 and charged $390 for them. He wore no safely gear, or safety glasses and cut the pipe in my basement, which made a horrific odor and mess of sewer!! He didn't offer to clean it, but expected me to. He then charged me $450 for new clothes and a new saw that he burnt up when he plugged it in. So we had a bill of $1739 for 2 hours. He says he's honest and every plumber would charge this. It has never been our previous experience ever before where we came from.
