This is a scam. I signed up for an experience after I had my baby. It was a contest and I was one of the lucky “few” chosen ambassadors to feel empowered with a one in a lifetime experience. Initially I decided not to move forward.

They called me recently the week of my birthday (marketing ploy) and said someone canceled and wanted to gift the empowering experiencing to someone who probably wouldn’t be able to do something like this for expense reasons and they wanted to gift it so their fees weren’t lost and I was “chosen”. I paid a small deposit to hold my place. I asked for pricing and I was told packages ranged starting at $400 and there were payment plans. Cool! Our family pictures with 15-20 images were about this price for 3 people… sounds consistent to me based on past experiences.

To make me more comfortable, I booked my hair and make up to be done and purchased some lingerie for my session. My photographer was very friendly and hyped me up through the session. She is an independent contractor and was just doing her job.

They continued to stress how I was an ambassador and this is to empower women and it was such a great opportunity. I finished my session to be sticker shocked that it would cost $85 a picture and almost $1300 for my digital prints. This is ridiculous and misleading. Pricing should be sent upfront before you are swindled and sweet talked and “empowered” thinking you are graciously being given an incentive when on the back end, they are recouping that discount. I felt embarrassed because I was so proud…excited to share these with my girlfriends and husband. How could I be so stupid? If something sounds too good to be true, “you won” “blah blah blah… it is. I would’ve been willing to pay $600 for my pictures… they are digital. There’s no printing… but $1300… that’s simply a waste. If you have the money to burn, by all means. This company needs to be more transparent. Well here… I will do it for you. $1250 for 80 pictures is a little over $15 a picture… who really is going to love all 80 pictures?! It’s just a way to profit and misrepresent a better value (again…marketing/pricing ploy)

I wonder if these 5 star reviews are even real. There’s no way so many women truly feel that way.

The photographer was great, she made me feel at ease and comfortable during our shoot. That’s where my compliments end on my entire experience. I came across an ad on Instagram from them asking me to submit my name and a bit about me for the chance to win a free Boudoir experience. I filled it in and received the email that I had won and was chosen. I was stoked because I’m non-binary and this was going to be a chance for me to feel more comfortable in my skin since I stopped dressing feminine. I’m informed that there’s a $100 down deposit required to prevent last minute appointment cancellation, and that it can be used towards getting pictures after the shoot. So already, not free, but I was understanding that nothing in life is truly free and thought that $100 for a photoshoot and pictures was still reasonable. There’s some small print throughout about checking out the picture packages ahead of time but nothing prepared me for the conversation after the shoot that I would only be getting TWO pictures for free and each individual digital picture after that is $85 a piece. $85 a piece is a lot as it is, and that’s the lowest priced option they have available. The next step up from $85 is $400 for 5 pictures. FIVE DIGITAL PICTURES, not even prints. When I questioned how this was even realistic, I was met with the explanation that Boudoir shoots are a “luxury experience” but that they have payment plans available. So that’s ridiculous in itself, but THEN when I toyed with the idea of doing the payment plan, I’m informed the payment plans are available up to 9 months AND you don’t even get the pictures until after you’ve paid it off entirely. What the actual [censored]. On top of ALL this, I find out the photographers are paid based on commission and tips only. So they’re charging thousands for these pictures/shoots, but they can’t even pay their photographers themselves? Yes, there is the chance that they can make more off of commission from those shoots, but the combination of all of these business practices in my experience alone makes me question if this company has any integrity whatsoever. This was the most shady and awful experience I can imagine, and they ruined what could have been great for me. The company should be ashamed of itself for using such predatory practices. I work managing the online reviews for a large company, and I will go post this everywhere, so people know to stay away from this company.

All Things Boudoir scams consumers by advertising low rates on Groupon, then cancelling the appointment once it's booked and keeping the $100 deposit in addition to the cost of the Groupon.
