Type of a scam Credit Cards
I confirmed that I offer dog training. In the texts, I noticed that the scammer's English was inconsistent and contained poor grammar. They continued to highlight they would pay with credit card and repeated the words "rest assured". (which seemed to me to be a cue that this was a scam)
They tried to schedule a time to send dogs over for proper inspection and referred continuously to being in the hospital. The scammer asked for an estimate repeatedly and kept assuring that they would make all payments but that someone else would be bringing their dogs.
I asked for an email address and sent a detailed list of additional questions along with reiterating our policies. He responded that it was too many questions due to present health condition. (again highlighting the hospital) I asked numerous times for the name of the veterinarian or clinic that I could reach out to directly to obtain veterinary records.
From other dog trainers I have learned that this is a common scam where the credit card is stolen but the scammer asks you to transfer money to the driver. The scam works by you transferring money and the credit card charge being cancelled by the card company.
