Type of a scam: Debt Collections

They got me

So in January 2023 I was served legal documents from Allegiant Management Group on legal documents from my County Clerks Office for a loan from 2 years ago that I had not fully paid off. The debt was legitimate on my part. I called and made arrangements to pay what I owed. I was told the amount owed. It sounded right. I started making payments on this but I could not see anything like an account that showed where my payments were going or how much my debt was decreasing. I found that odd. I stopped the payments after speaking with the current owners of the debt. Then in June of this year there was someone else who called and said he wanted to see if I wanted to finish paying off the debt. I told him I did not know I had paid any of the debt still owed. He said "Oh don't you remember arranging the payments with Steve earlier this year" and I did not. I had no idea this was the same business or the same debt. I have so much going on in my chaotic life that it did not ring a bell. So he states I only owe a small amount and that it would take much to pay it off. I agreed to pay it. I set up 3 payments. I paid the first one. Now, mind you I am a single woman raising my grandkids after the death of my daughter from gun violence which is why the debt went unpaid as I had to pay for a funeral I was not expecting. I do not have much money but if I could get rid of this debt, this would be one less worry. So when I paid the 2nd payment of $140 I thought I would reach out to the loan company the debt was with and they referred me to the first debt collector the sold my debt to. They then referred me to another place the debt was sold to. They in turn tell me that they are unaware of my debt being sold to this Allegiant company. I explained the said that my debt has passed the collection stage and was now a debt recovery. She says I need to contact the original debt collector. I did that, they referred me back to them. It was a circle. Mean time my next payment is due. I called Allegiant to inquire about an account details for what I had already paid was needed and that I needed to see where they had the rights to collect on my debt because the original collection agency said they had not sold the debt. He explains to me that they do have the right to collect the debt as a debt recovery company. He then states if I do not pay the last payment that I will forfeit my agreement and all the money I have paid will go to them and I will still owe the full amount of the debt. I told him that I had spoken with the debt collection company who owned my debt and they told me that this did not sound legitimate because they had not sold my debt, Mr. Green stated that a collection company will tell you anything to get you to pay your debt to them and that a debt recovery company is different from debt collection. That should have sent up red flags but I was still just wanting to get the debt paid and be done with it. He said it was the last payment and then they would send me a paid in full statement. So the last payment went through and they sent the letter. I then sent the letter to the debt collection company that the original debt collection company sold my debt to, Rocky Mountain Capital Management, who sold it to Metacorp, and they stated they had never heard of Allegiant and that I had just gotten scammed. The loan company who I actually owed refuses to speak with me, the original debt collector's refer me to the debt collector's they sold it to, Metacorp, who has now sold the debt to MCU Holdings, LLC. and I owe 3 times more than the original debt. I am done trying to do the right thing and pay my debt I owe. I am angry. I want to take these people down. I can't understand how these people sleep at night knowing they are stealing from those who are already poor. And they went to great lengths to make this look as legitimate as they could by actually filing court papers.

Oh and these papers were serve by my local Sheriff's office. I sent the paid in full letter to all parties involved and now I am working with my bank to get my money back if possible. Please be aware of these people and anyone claiming to be DEBT RECOVERY or ALLEGIANT MANAGEMENT GROUP.

I have gotten a phone call from Lynette heart she called my phone number and then called my employment when I didn’t answer. Lynette heart left a message and said that she would come to my home and deliver certified papers at 5 PM Wednesday, September 6 and then they she excuse me said that she would come to my work place. Then I had called back the number that she gave me and then I talk to Josh Griffin and he said that they can garnish my wages. He wanted a debit card or credit card information and that she was contacted by boost financial and I told him that I never took out this loaner that I never heard of them he said on his computer that he could see that I sent paystub‘s That they had a copy of my drivers licenses and my Social Security number. And then he gave me his own personal line if I had any more questions or I couldn’t make the payment for some reason and then nobody gave me an address to this company but they need my home address. And the only thing that matches in the website that I found on this, Debt Collecter was the email the phone numbers did not match from either joshes, direct line or the one that one that told me to call. The call that went to my voicemail also said unknown caller.

They called, called back talked to a George Maron and a Daniel Brown, Had all the right info trying to collect a debt from 10 yrs ago, that didn't exist. They are a scam be very careful. Threatened in first call to show up at house and then to work to serve papers.
